But not "the" call. My case manager, Julie, at AGCI called me around 11:30am today. Can you believe it?! I was surprisingly calm. I think I knew it wasn't the call. Plus, it was a 971 area code, so I was caught off guard. I thought it was supposed to be a 5 something area code? Where did I hear that, I do not know.
Anyway, she was calling to discuss my #2 status on the girl's list, her time in Ethiopia last month, and how court dates are being scheduled into August...but that they do not know if courts will remain open versus closing just yet...that we all just have to wait and see if the Ethiopian government makes an announcement or not...or maybe they'll just keep scheduling court dates and we'll get the hint.
She then said, "I hope to talk to you again soon....but don't read too much into that....it could be next week, this month, or in the next couple of months...we won't know until we get the referral for you." Oh dear. Of course I am going to read into that...it's what keeps me going. So, with that said...I hope to hear from her again very soon! :)

I hope you do too! I just talked with Julie as well. She had said we did not have a court date with the latest batch she received, but she was hoping w/in the next week to hear something. Waiting is so hard and I am praying for you and your little one.
don't you hate the AGCI tell you nothing but you will try to guess EVERYTHING from it calls?????oh they were the worst for playing weird mind games with myself-like, did her voice sound like she knew something? did she say she WOULD talk to me soon, or HOPED to talk to me soon? what if she calls and i am not excited? what if she calls and i am all excited, and she just wants to check something dumb with me?? oh, it is nice to not worry about that anymore, but know that you really totally forget about it once you see that face! it will be soon!!
I wonder how the official call will go. I think if it were me, I probably wouldn't hear anything except the part about getting a referral. It will probably sound like that teacher on Charlie Brown! "You got your referral, wha, wha, wha, wha..." Haha! :)
I am crossing my fingers and toes that it comes very, very soon! I am so excited for you! Have you done anymore registering?

we got the same sort of phone call from julie ("it could be 2 months"), then we got our referral the next day!!! so, you better be ready :)
