Back it up a bit....

Whoops...sorry Leah (I was secretly hoping that she had gotten the call and was just waiting to announce...but she is actually at the top of the list)! Leah and Shauna are above me on the girl's list. so I am unofficially #3...and again, possibly 4 or 5 since we have some mystery spots on the waiting list (those crazy private people that don't blog or email about their lives....haha).

Well, this weekend has been a breath of fresh air. I forgot how GREAT it is to NOT be expecting The Call. That's not quite the right way to describe it, but it sure is calming to not be expecting THE CALL.

Let me try and explain. Starting tomorrow morning when AGCI opens at 8-ish, which is 11-ish our time (they are in Oregon and I'm in Tennessee), and until they close their office at 4-ish, which is 7-ish our time, I will be anxious and excited all over again anticipating THE CALL....or for Leah or Shauna to get THE CALL. It's like a surge of electricity is running through your veins while you wait for this life-changing amazing moment. Then, at 7:30pm my time, when I expect AGCI to be closed for the day, I am unplugged. Very let down and dissapointed that another day has gone by without THE CALL or my gals L and S getting THE CALL....but then the calming unplugged feeling settles in again.....until 11-ish the next morning. This goes on all week long. It is wonderful and exciting and utterly exhausting. So, here's to an amazing weekend that I could relax with my husband and daughter. And here's to another Monday coming up when I can get all excited again. Plug me in...I'm ready for the ride to continue!

And a BIG shout out to my friends Karey, Cynthia, and Stacy for meeting me at Panera last Thursday evening for a MUCH needed adoptive mom hang out. Only you can truly understand the insane state of mind that I am in, and I needed you like crazy. Thank you!

that's a descriptive way to describe the wait at the top "plugged in" during AGCI's business hours and "unplugged" on the weekends. i know it can be an exhausting process. i will be so excited for you when you do get THE CALL!

I am trying to imagine that feeling...and all I can say is that you guys must be some of the strongest and most patient people around...I would be crazy! It is just around the corner, your little girl is getting ready to come home. It makes my heart smile to think of it.

I am so there with you! I am not as crazy on the weekends because we are busy, I am away from the computer, and just loving on my daughter, but once Monday rolls around the madness begins again! I know that God has a super plan for us both! I sometimes let worry settle in now that we have changed our paremeters, but I know this is what God meant to be! I hope we both hear something really very soon!
Praying for you!

Hey Theresa.... Well, I hope you're managing to relax tonight at least... No call today. But, I just found my laptop amongst the mess of boxes, so its a good thing the "call" didn't come as I wouldn't have been able to see any photos! Ha.

Anxiously awaiting with you....

I can't imagine the edge of you seat you must be on every day...wondering if today is THE DAY. Your call will come soon and then your whole life will change. What a lucky little girl is waiting for you to come and get her. Hang in there-

Seems like the last few months all of the activity has occurred in the last few days of the month. Now here it is on the 30th and the lack of blog or listserv referral announcements is driving me crazy (and we're not even in the top 10 yet!). I can only imagine what it's doing to you. So excited and on the edge of our seats for everyone at the top!

Yay for #3 (or is it #1 now =). Wish I could have made it to Panera too!
